Week in the life {Friday, Saturday & Sunday}

Well, it’s a week later and I’m finally finishing up the week in the life posts I started two weeks ago.  {ha!}  I do have a really good excuse though.  Remember how I said David works from home some with his new job?  Well, some times he also travels out of town to work.  Some of that traveling is close to our home.  However, some of that traveling is all the way across the state.  Last week, this was the case for us as David was on the other side of Louisiana and couldn’t come home everyday.  So it was 4 kids, 1 dog, 13 chickens, and me last week.  Which basically means I’m “on” from early morning until late at night, and I get really tired.  That means I had to let a few things, such as blogging, fall to the side for the week.

Today I’m going to wrap up the last of the week in the life blogging, and the next post on the blog will be about something else.  🙂  These daily recaps will also be short and sweet because I really didn’t take many pictures on these days.

It’s Friday!  Yay!  We decide to take a little road trip/field trip to get out of the house!  David did a little work on this morning before we headed out the door.

Then it was on the road to Caldwell Zoo in Tyler, Texas!

I won’t over post pictures from the zoo, but I will share a few highlights…

We fed lettuce to the giraffe.

Laughed at the meerkats.

Were swarmed by parkeets looking for a snack.

And at the end of the day, we felt like this before we hit the road to return to our home in Louisiana.

On Saturday morning, the kids were outside playing when they found a turtle right beside our driveway.

We watched him as he crossed the road to make sure he made it safely to the other side.  Sounds fun, right?  But really, we didn’t want him to get hit by a car that might happen down our road.

David took Evan to a kids’ fishing tournament (it wasn’t really a tournament but I’m not sure what to call it).  Evan actually won his age division for most fish caught.

The fishing tournament ended early because we were expecting some pretty good storms to come in that day.  And boy, did they!  Spring storms can get ugly here in Louisiana.

We didn’t lose electricity, but we did lose internet.  And the day pretty much ends here because we settled in to watch Harry Potter movies.  After that, I can’t remember what we did because I have no pictures on my phone! I’m sure we ate some things, did something, and went to bed.  The weather pretty much forced us in the rest of the day.

Sunday, April 30, 2017

Well, I didn’t take even one picture on Sunday!  We went to church, ate lunch with my parents, hung out with them while David helped my Dad with some stuff, and I checked on the garden for damage after the storm.  (Our garden is on my parents’ land.  I plan to share a post about our garden this week.)

Then we came home and got ready for a new week!

And that concludes our week in the life – finally, huh?!?  Thanks for reading along with me!  See you soon with some new posts!
